The following instructions address issues related to using
Signatures in Microsoft Excel worksheets.
- If the recipients don't have your handwriting font installed on their machines, their computers will substitute a standard system font (such as Arial) for the incoming handwritten text. Since the signature parts and inner-word letters in your vLetter handwriting are located in the upper ASCII table (where the "Greek" symbols are kept in standard computer fonts), they see "Greek" symbols in lieu of your signature or handwriting.
- You need to insert your signature as an image in the Excel file so the recipient can still see it. Follow the instructions below to make an image and insert it into Excel.
- You can also set Protection on the Excel file to prevent the signature
from being copied — refer to the Help menu in Excel.
1. Using TextEdit, insert your signature using the vLetter Handwriter.
2. Highlight the signature, then click on the “Make Graphic” button in the vLetter Handwriter. A window will appear showing the text that was highlighted. You may resize this window, and change the text color to blue, red or black.
3. Click “Save as Graphic” to save this picture to your desktop or other location. The .TIF graphic will be saved with your signature.
Click in the cell where you want the signature to appear. From the Insert menu, select Picture, then select From File... and choose your signature .TIF image that you saved to the desktop. Voila!
